There used to be an executive jet pilot who prided himself on how low and fast he could bring his plane in at Baginton. It always used to annoy people on the nearby Willenhall estate. One evening he was caught by an unexpected gust of wind which made landing impossible. His only recourse was to slam the throttle open and pull into a vertical climb. The whole air was filled with the most deafening roar. The pilot was lot more careful after that episode.
