A union says a draft deal has been agreed to end a pay row that’s seen trains across Coventry and Warwickshire cancelled for more than a month.
Dozens of London Midland services have had to be replaced with buses after drivers refused to do overtime until a new agreement had been reached about their pay for the shifts.
A separate row has also seen major disruption to Sunday services.
On top of that, the ASLEF union had ballotted its members for strike action as they say some are being paid more than others ever since the company was formed back in 2007.
London Midland have been holding intense discussions with ASLEF for the past few days and the union have announced an agreement has been reached and in a statement said:
“This means that industrial action will not take place in the company and the terms of the draft agreement will be put to Aslef members for their endorsement.”
Whatever happens, industrial action has been called off, but we don’t know yet when weekday and weekend services will be back to normal, with buses due to replace trains between Coventry and Nuneaton on Thursday afternoon.
