The music legends were out in force when Coventry’s shrine to 2-Tone music opened its doors to the brand new music exhibition Out To Lanch - A Sound Education.

Guests were taken down to the semi-darkened main hall at Coventry University and welcomed by Pete Chambers and Touch FM’s Brody Swain, who did a quick Q and A with the gathered crowd, with Specials bassman Horace Panter explaining which window his prize bass was stolen from back in the day.
On the wall was shown the video of the Specials’ hit song Rat Race, a bizarre experience as this is the place in which it was actually filmed.
Back upstairs and The Selecter’s Neol Davies opened the free exhibition, telling the audience of some of the bands he had seen at the Lanch, including the recently departed Captain Beefheart.
The exhibition features The Sex Pistols, The Clash, King, Covaid, Chuck Berry, 2-Tone and The Lanch Festivals as well as many more, with memorabilia and cuttings that will sure to bring back memories to those of a certain age.
Also on show is a series of wonderful photographs by John Coles.
