Hundreds of low-paid Coventry City Council workers are to miss out on years of back pay because of a union blunder.
The Telegraph has learned that women workers have lost tens of thousands of pounds each, and millions combined.
About 1,000 angry city council care assistants, cleaners, dinner ladies and office staff are now seeking to sue their union
Unite.
It has emerged the union failed to lodge their claims in time at industrial tribunals.
Some said they are “shattered” after finally expecting to get full payouts after a six-year fight ended in a deal in December.
