Serious violent crime has fallen in Rugby town centre, the latest figures reveal.
Warwickshire Police and Rugby First – the company which runs the town centre – said the total number of incidents fell by six per cent over the past year.
Chief Insp Bob Musgrove said: “This reduction is good news for residents of Rugby.
“We are having a positive and significant impact on the levels of crime in the town.”
There are 50 CCTV cameras in the town, supporting the police, rangers and members of the Pub Watch and Shop Net schemes.
Aftab Gaffar, of Rugby First, said: “These figures have been achieved through strong partnerships.”
