Royalists are on the march for the wedding of the year, determined to be in London on the big day.

Bosses at the city-based coach firm Harry Shaw say they’ve seen huge interest in their scheduled coach trip to London on April 29 when Prince William and Kate Middleton tie the knot at Westminister Abbey.

Most available seats for the day trip have already been booked by people keen to soak up the atmosphere of the occasion.

And all profits made from the first coach will be donated to the Telegraph/Mercia Snowball Appeal charity, which supports sick and disabled children across Coventry and Warwickshire.

It means that if all 48 tickets, priced £23.95, are sold, the company will donate £1,149 to the children’s charity.

Robert Shaw, company director, is delighted by the uptake and says more coaches may have to be laid on.

He said: “It’s unusual for people to book day trips this early as they usually wait until the last minute, but we’re already having a huge number of bookings from people looking to go to London.

“We’ve sold about 30 places and there are only 48 places on the coach.
