Three masked men armed with crowbars and a hammer have raided a hotel on the outskirts of Coventry.
They made off from the Premier Inn in Ansty with cash from the safe after threatening staff there to open it just after midnight.
Nobody was injured, although the workers involved were shaken.
They left the premises on foot with a quantity of cash, possibly across a field at the rear of the hotel before getting into an unidentified vehicle.
It follows a
similar raid, involving the same weapons, at a pub in Nuneaton last weekend, where staff were locked under the stairs.
Police would like to hear from anyone who saw anything suspicious in the locality of the Premier Hotel in Ansty around midnight or anyone who has any information about the robbery.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Constable Sarah Clapham at Rugby CID on 01788 541 111 (extension: 3773) or Crimestoppers – anonymously - on 0800 555 111.
