A 15-year-old boy has been charged with murdering a man who died about six weeks after an assault in Warwickshire.
Adrian Howard, 38, suffered a serious assault in Black-a-Tree Road, Nuneaton, on 14 October 2010, police said.
Mr Howard, of Nuneaton, was released from hospital after being treated for his injuries but died on 4 December.
The boy, who legally cannot be named, was initially charged with assault and remanded in secure accommodation.
A Warwickshire Police spokeswoman said: "Mr Howard died on 4 December 2010 and a post-mortem examination showed that his death was believed to have been connected to injuries sustained during the assault in October."
The youth remains in secure accommodation and will appear at Birmingham Crown Court on 14 January.
