Frances Austin, 52, of Little Warton Road, Warton, died when fire broke out at her home on Sunday afternoon.

Her partner, Terry Batham, and their son, Aaron, survived the fire which was tackled by up to 25 firefighters.

The investigation is expected to take several days. Police said early indications showed the fire was accidental although inquiries were continuing.

A memorial service will be held later.

Ms Austin's sister, Nina Wallis-Price, said Frances was a loving, caring, giving, mother, partner, daughter, sister and friend.

"The heartache we all feel, we cannot put into words," she said.

"Thank you to everyone who tried to save our angel."

Ms Austin's funeral will be held in Coleshill on 18 January.
