It has been claimed that some properties have lost power ten times this week alone
National Grid said power issues suffered in a Nuneaton community should be resolved today. It comes amid claims that some homes in the Purcell Avenue area of town have been without power ten times this week.
Some said they were left in 'complete darkness' due to power cuts. The area has been being served by a generator due to works to replace a substation
CoventryLive put concerns about the loss off power from the generator to National Grid and in a statement the utility firm said that the works should be complete today (March 12).
A National Grid Electricity Distribution spokesperson said: "We’re replacing a local substation as part of an investment to strengthen the local electricity network. While this work has been under way, properties on and around Purcell Avenue were temporarily supplied by a generator, which has tripped on several occasions.
“Our engineers are completing the final cable work today, allowing all affected properties to be reconnected directly to the network by the end of the day.
"We’re sorry for the repeated disruption experienced by customers and understand how frustrating this has been."
