Who's taking to the floor on Christmas Day?
Strictly Come Dancing has finally unveiled the first star competing in this year's Christmas special. The annual festive extravaganza will return to screens on December 25, and the first bit of casting was revealed on spin-off It Takes Two tonight – as well as the identity of their pro partner.
It's none other than Scarlett Moffatt, who became a star on Gogglebox before winning I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! in 2016.
"It's just a dream," she told host Janette Manrara. "Honestly, this is top of my bucket list. Which I never thought I was gonna be able to do."
Janette also revealed who Scarlett will be dancing with, and it's the one and only Vito Coppola.
In a statement, Scarlett gushed: "Strictly has always held a special place in my heart, so being part of the Christmas Special feels truly magical.
"It’s the show that brings everyone together around the TV, and being part of that is a genuine personal and career highlight. I’m sure it’ll also introduce me to a few muscles I didn’t know I had. I can’t wait to live my best life on that dancefloor.”
The rest of the line-up will be revealed in due course, with the next festive contestant set to be announced on Scott Mills' Radio 2 Breakfast Show on Monday morning (November 24).
This year's Christmas special will be particularly emotional, as it'll mark the final appearance from Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly in their role as the iconic show's hosts.
Even though it will be filmed before the final of the current regular series ends, it will mark their final broadcast episode before stepping back and making way for new hosts in 2026.
Last year's Christmas special was won by drag icon Tayce and her partner Kai Widdrington, after they impressed with a routine to '100 Degrees' by Kylie and Dannii Minogue.
