Council warns of rolling car park closures across Nuneaton and Bedworth

Council bosses have warned that there are looming car park closures across Nuneaton and Bedworth.. Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council says that essential groundwork maintenance needs to be undertaken at its car parks.

This will lead to rolling closures over the 'coming months' with Spitalfields car parks in Bedworth and Victoria Street Car Park One in Nuneaton the first to be closed.

The Town Hall has said that Victoria Street Car Park One, which is based directly behind the Salvation Army, will be closed on Monday, November 24. The closure will be in place for a day.

Spitalfields Car Park One on Sergeant Simon Valentine Way in Bedworth will be closed on Wednesday, November 26 for a Spitalfields Car Park Two, which is based behind the Bedworth Civic Hall, will be closed on Thursday, November 27 for a day. The dates for closures of the other council car parks have yet to be confirmed.

In a statement, councillor Nicky King, cabinet member for business and regeneration at the borough council, explained: "This is essential work that needs to be completed on all our borough car parks with the car parks closed to ensure public safety.

“We have scheduled the work to keep inconvenience to users to the minimum and ensure the least disruption possible, and we thank residents for their patience whilst this work is being carried out.”
