Police are investigating a burglary at a hair salon in Coventry. Nearly £2,000 worth of items were stolen from Mia Bella Hair on Princethorpe Way in Binley.

CCTV captured a man smashing a window and ransacking the building. Cash, electrical items, barbering equipment and multiple pairs of scissors were stolen in the burglary on Thursday (October 30).

Several food items were also taken when the fridge was raided. Employee Sarah Carolan said they were 'devastated' that their livelihoods had been impacted during the busy run-up to Christmas.

Sarah said: “Mia Bella Hair was broken into by a man who smashed our front window and proceeded to ransack the salon and steal our electrical items, numerous pairs of scissors, barbering equipment, money and even food from the fridge.

“If anyone is offered or hears anything about salon equipment being sold, please bear us in mind. It is our livelihood that has been stolen, and with the build-up to Christmas, this is devastating for us all as the Mia Bella family.”

Officers investigating the break-in have urged people with information to come forward. Anyone who was near Princethorpe Way at around 12.20am on October 30 has been asked to contact them via 101.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “We are investigating a burglary at a business in Princethorpe Way, Coventry. Anyone with information can contact us via Live Chat on our website or by calling 101 and quoting 20/427807/25.”
