REMINDER: Clocks went back...

Postby dutchman » Sat Oct 25, 2025 9:57 pm

Clocks went back one hour at 2.00am in line with Greenwich Mean Time.

Unlike most operating systems the times displayed on the message board do not adjust automatically.

If this board is still displaying the old time on your PC please go to the User Control Panel and check that "Summer Time/DST is in effect" is disabled in "Board preferences". [Tick "No" and then "Submit"]

Octopus totally screwed-up my heating timers last spring, shifting their off-peak electricity supply by TWO hours instead of one! :fuming:

I'm curious to see what will happen this time? :tinfoilhat:

The power came on at the right time but went off seven minutes early. The water heater didn't know that so continued using electricity at double the normal rate! It's incredibly tedious to reset the timer as well. :fuming:

My meter changed over as expected. I don't know what time it switched back to normal, but I turn my water heater on manually, and it automatically switches off whenever the meter returns to 'normal'.

It's a drag getting up to catch the last 30 minutes of cheap electricity, but I'm not going to feed the greedy utility companies more than necessary.
Of course it'll fit; you just need a bigger hammer.

The power came on an hour earlier tonight, the same time it did before the clocks were altered last spring!
I have no idea what time it will go off again, am waiting to see what happens?
