Hundreds of Coventry residents have been left without electricity after two different power cuts on Sunday (August 17). Both incidents were reported in the morning.

The first, around the Henley Green area, started around 3.30am and saw 143 properties up and down Henley Road and its offshoot roads lose power.

Engineers were deployed who confirmed the outage was caused by a "fault on the underground power cables" in the area. Power at all properties impacted was not fully restored ten hours after the initial report.

National Grid's website states: "The incident was raised at 3.30am this morning, affecting 143 properties. We successfully restored all supplies in the area by 1.26pm this afternoon.

"We are sorry for any inconvenience that was caused by the power cut."

Meanwhile, across the city in Willenhall, an incident was reported at 10.50am, leaving 121 properties without power. Within minutes, National Grid confirmed a "fault on the low voltage power cable" was responsible. Engineers were sent to fix the fault, with a predicted restoration time of 2pm.

Areas around St James Lane, Remembrance Road and Meadfoot were impacted, including the following postcodes: CV3 3DD, CV3 3DE, CV3 3DR, CV3 3DT, CV3 3DU, CV3 3DW, CV3 3DX

National Grid's website states: "We are aware of this power cut outage which was raised at 10:50am this morning and our engineers are working to get the power returned as quickly as possible. We are sorry for any inconvenience this is causing you."
