Collections will not be taking place on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day
Residents have been warned of major changes to Coventry bin collections over Christmas and New Year. Coventry City Council has confirmed the rescheduled bin collection days for the festive period.
Christmas is the time of year when our bins are most full, brimming with empty wine bottles, ravaged wrapping paper, and leftover food. It makes it all the more important to check your adjusted collection dates, and thankfully, CoventryLive has you covered.
Households have been told that refuse, recycling, and food waste will not be collected on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, or New Years Day. Workers get major festive days off, meaning collections that would have fallen on those days, which are weekdays this year, have to happen on weekends instead.
Coventry City Council confirmed that garden waste collections, which cost £40 a year, will also be paused from Monday, December 9, to Friday, January 10. Collections will resume on Monday, January 13.
Bins crews will be working across Coventry from 7am on the following dates over Christmas and New Year:
- Normal Collection Tuesday December 24
- Wednesday December 25 bins will be collected on Friday December 27
- Thursday December 26 will be collected on Saturday December 28
- Friday December 27 bins will be collected Monday December 30
- Tuesday December 31 collections as normal
- Wednesday January 1 to be collected Thursday January 2
- Thursday January 2 bins to be collected Friday January 3
- Friday January 3 to be collected Saturday January 4
