Dom Joly, Jenny Eclair meet campmates

Dom Joly and Jenny Eclair have entered the I'm A Celebrity jungle.



The two set off for their new bush home in a helicopter, as a dubious Joly commented: "I'm dressed like a very gay Ray Mears so things could be better."

Narrowly making the river crossing, after Joly almost capsized their ranger-navigated vessel, the comedians made themselves home in a makeshift camp.

Dropped straight into the action, the pair faced a Spooky Shack, where they would receive a cloche, complete with jungle critters and a star for camp, every half-hour. The contestants had to stay in the shack as long as possible to earn stars to exchange camp meals.

After braving out huntsman spiders, cockroaches, green ants and other creatures, the pair won all 12 stars to ingratiate themselves with the main camp.

Making a call to the Bush Telegraph, Eclair told a bemused Nigel Havers: "We're your two new playmates. When I say playmates, don't get too excited. We're not playmates out of the mansion but we do need rescuing quite badly."

As the newcomers were brought back to camp by Havers and Shaun Ryder, the contestants quickly filled them in on the social situation.

"Gillian is very anal. Lovely girl but the fact that she's here and enjoying the company, that's a big step," Britt Eckland told Eclair.

Joly, meanwhile, commented that Havers looked "haunted", saying: "He's like a man looking at you. He’s almost clinging at you saying, 'Get me out of here', but I like Nigel."

Eclair made a fairly quick assessment of Lempit Opik, telling Joly: "I've already got a very small tolerance level of someone. You must be able to guess. I already want to throttle."
