ITV1 has confirmed changes to tonight's schedule to accommodate a special programme about Prince William and Kate Middleton's engagement.
It was officially announced today that the pair had become engaged last month and will marry in the spring or summer of next year.
William and Kate: The Royal Engagement will replace Emmerdale at 7pm after the ITV News.
The latest edition of the Yorkshire soap will broadcast half an hour later than scheduled at 7.30pm.
Transmission details for the previously billed River Monsters have not yet been confirmed.
