Police flooded the area after reports of a knife attack as hundreds passed through the busy road
A man is recovering in hospital after he was stabbed on a bustling street in Coventry city centre. Police flooded Trinity Street at around 4pm on Saturday (September 2) after reports of a knife attack.
As many as six police cars were seen parked in the road. Paramedics and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance were also seen near the Coventry Transport Museum.
"We were called to Trinity Street shortly after 4pm on Saturday after a man was stabbed," a West Midlands Police spokesperson confirmed. "Officers attended and supported colleagues from the ambulance service, with the man taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
"We are investigating and are carrying out further enquiries in the area. Anyone with information can contact us on 101 or Live Chat quoting log 2828 of 2 September."
Officers erected a large cordon near Cash Generator, Nando's and The Flying Standard pub after the incident took place. Images from the scene showed concerned members of the public looking on as officers swarmed the busy street.
One eyewitness told CoventryLive they were 'horrified' at the events that had unfolded.

Man and woman named and charged after Coventry city centre stabbingA man and a woman have been charged in connection with a stabbing in Coventry city centre. Police swarmed around Trinity Street following reports of a knife attack on Saturday afternoon (September 2).
A man, who has not been identified, was hospitalised with stab wounds following the shocking incident. Now Coventry Police have confirmed that two people - a man and a woman - have been charged in connection with the disorder.
Robert Brodie, aged 33, and Laura Perkins, aged 43, both from Coundon Road, Coventry, have been charged with affray. They are due to face the charges before the city’s magistrates court next week.
