Two men launched into a frenzied attack on employees at CV Hire Centre
Two 'terrified' employees were threatened and one of them beaten during a vicious knifepoint robbery in Coventry. Staff at CV Hire Centre, in Foleshill, were subjected to the horrific ordeal moments before they were due to close on Monday, October 3.
Two balaclava-clad men, armed with a 'huge knife' and baseball bats, stormed into the building on Kingfield Road at around 4.30pm. It is understood they stole money from the till before launching into a frenzied attack on two employees.
An employee, aged 35, was beaten with a baseball bat and held at knifepoint during the terrifying robbery, CoventryLive understands. Another employee, aged 20, claimed she was held behind the counter to prevent her from calling for help.
The 20-year-old victim told CoventryLive : "We were about to close and two guys in balaclavas came in with baseball bats. One of them had this huge knife and they opened the till so we gave them everything we had."
Things then took a violent turn when one of the masked men 'hit' her colleague around the head with a baseball bat before dragging him into the back office and taking his phone. At this time, the young girl managed to escape and call for help from others in the builders' yard.
Speaking about the emotional impact the attack has had, the victim added: "It is awful. It has made us think in a completely different way because we never thought anything like that would happen. It was like something out of a horror film."
She added: "Honestly, it was the most horrific thing ever, it has just messed up our heads, to be honest. I am absolutely terrified of every car that stays for a minute, I am like 'Oh who is that?' and just people that look similar to them I just get so freaked out.
"Usually, I feel so comfortable here and it has just shaken both of us up. It is horrible. I just want them to get caught."
