The resident said pavement parking is an 'ongoing problem' in the neighbourhood

A Coventry resident is furious at drivers parking on the pavement in his neighbourhood. Lindsay Harriman said it is becoming an ongoing 'problem' for residents in the area, who are forced to walk on to the road as vehicles obstruct the footpath along Ashdown Close in Binley.

Lindsay is frustrated with the drivers' 'nuisance' parking. And he said he fears the safety of vulnerable residents in the area. Lindsay said he has seen neighbours with pushchairs who are unable to get past the vehicles, and have to walk around the cars with their infants in strollers.

He told CoventryLive: "It does make you wonder about the people who park like that." He said he would like to see action taken.

He complained that multiple parked cars could be a 'nuisance'. Lindsay said he has previously tried speaking to the motorists about their parking - but said his pleas fell on deaf ears.

This is not the first time pavement parking has angered residents in Coventry. One local has expressed her frustration in a Facebook post, after spotting a car parked in front of a pelican crossing.

Several people lashed out at the dangerous parking. One wrote: "That is bad parking.. That crossing is already on a bad corner. "I've seen many accidents and near misses with cars and pedestrians. Stupid place to have one."

Another added: "Should be double yellow lines either side of hen lane at bottom of Briscoe Road... Very dangerous pulling out of Briscoe with cars on both sides."

Meanwhile, one wrote: "Oh for policing we used have, they would been booked fined immediately, no one cares anymore."

Is there anywhere in Coventry where people don't park on the pavement?

Another annoyance is drivers parking across the entrance to a footpath so that everyone has to walk around them. :fuming:
