A man was arrested after an attempted break-in and vandalism at a property in Coventry. He attempted to flee the scene following the incident on Sydnall Road.

Officers rushed to the scene on Thursday (September 29) at around 1.20pm. After being caught red-handed, the unnamed suspect ran away in an attempt to evade capture.

A 41-year-old man was quickly arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and burglary. He was remanded in custody on Thursday. Police confirmed the suspect has since been released on bail.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “We were called to reports of a break-in and vandalism at a property in Sydnall Road, Coventry at about 1.20pm on Thursday (29 September). Officers attended and after a short foot chase, we arrested a 41-year-old man on suspicion of criminal damage and burglary. Following questioning, he was released on police bail with conditions, as our investigations continue.”
