Residents were woke up in Wyken after someone threw a television from a balcony in the early hours of the morning. The incident happened at William Malcolm House on Attoxhall Road on Wednesday.

Citizen Housing, the association that owns the building, is aware of the incident and says it sent staff to clear the debris away. One resident said the noise the TV made when it hit the ground sounded like car crash.

The resident said: "I was asleep and heard the huge bang it made. It was so loud it woke me up. It sounded like there had been a really bad car crash.

"I had a look out but couldn't see anything. I went back to sleep and kind of forgot about it until the next day when I saw what looked the remains of a TV left on the floor. It was lucky no one was there at that moment."

A spokesman for Citizen said: “There was an incident in the early hours of this morning where a TV was disposed of over a balcony at William Malcolm House in Coventry. Our teams are aware of the incident and were on site quickly to clear it away.”

This section of Wyken is currently part of a regeneration project from Citizen.

A statement on Citizen's website reads: "The regeneration of an area of Wyken will be our first major regeneration project as Citizen, alongside our regeneration of Spon End. Our 15-storey William Malcolm House, made up of 112 flats, will be refurbished. The five year project will be completed in 2024."
