AOL/Talk-Talk/Tiscali users (Coventry area)

They're not exactly shouting this from the rooftops but following an exchange upgrade 'selected cutomers' can now get ADSL2+ in this area.

Advantages:
'Up to 24mb/s' download speed (depending on your distance from the exchange)
May be cheaper than your existing service
Stronger customer privacy policy than many major ISPs

Disadvantages:
No increase in upload speed (which is more important to some users than download speed)
May require a new ADSL2+ router to replace existing router or modem
May involve signing a new long-term contract
May involve adding a telephone account to existing broadband service
Downloading restrictions of new contract might not be as favourable as old contract
Heavy users may be subject to bandwidth throttling during peak periods and random disconnections

After my experiences, I'll stick with what I've got thanks. The idea of signing a long term commitment with these companies makes me cringe.
Of course it'll fit; you just need a bigger hammer.

I've yet to hear a good word about Talk Talk.
The Coventry Telegraph is the best Newspaper in the world. Honest.

Interestingly Peter, I was with Tiscali prior to TalkTalk. I know many complained about Tiscali, but I never had any real problems. However, since the take over, shall we just say that I wouldn't ..... on them if they were on fire!
