Householders are being warned of bin collection changes in Nuneaton and Bedworth when 'extreme weather' hits this week. A heatwave is due to hit our region later this week with temperatures set to reach 31C so Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council has confirmed it is due to make changes to its refuse collections.

In a bid to keep staff members of out of the searing heat, the refuse collection teams will start their collections from 6am on Thursday (August 11). The council has said that it will review this on Friday to see if it needs to be extended into next week too.

As a result of this, householders with collections on Thursday and Friday will have to put their bins out earlier. In a statement, a Town Hall spokesman said: "Due to the hot weather conditions our refuse collection teams will start their collections from Thursday of this week at 6am, we will be reviewing this on Friday to see if we need to extend this into next week.

"We would like to remind everyone to put your bins out in plenty of time." This is the second time bin collections have changed due to the weather, with a similar decision being taken during the heatwave last month.
