A woman and man aged in their 90s are among three people who were injured in a crash in Warwickshire.
Two cars collided in Bericote Road, Blackdown, Leamington Spa, at about 1235 BST on Sunday.
One of the drivers, in his 90s, had neck, back and abdominal injuries. He was airlifted to hospital. His passenger suffered neck and back pain.
The man driving the other car broke both his legs and injured his shoulder, the ambulance service said.
"Fire and ambulance crews worked hard to free the other driver, a man in his 30s, from his very badly damaged car in which he was trapped," a service spokesman said.
He was also flown to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire by air ambulance after it returned from its first journey.
