An independent Nuneaton cakery that has tickled people's tastebuds for three years has announced it will close. Angels Cakery put itself on the map locally, being the first independent bakery to offer sweet and savoury treats.

Based on the Cock and Bear bridge, within the former Polish shop unit, Angels Cakery has been open for three years. But this weekend will see it open for the last time.

The news was revealed on the eatery's page on Facebook earlier today (March 29). It states that it is 'time for pastures new'. It also thanks all of its customers for their support.

The post explains that the details of the closure are 'irrelevant' but thanks everyone for a 'great three years'. It will be open on Friday (April 1) and Saturday (April 2) amid what has been a massive closing down sale.

"I’m not going to put a long-winded emotional post here, the details are irrelevant," the post reads. "Just know that I appreciate you all, the regulars who’ve been with us since the start. We love you! But it’s time for pastures new!"
