Storm Eunice has arrived in the Midlands and made its mark, with a roof blown off a block of garages in Nuneaton and a trampoline ending up on a bungalow roof in Coventry.

A dramatic image forwarded to CoventryLive shows a block of garages in The Poplars, Stockingford.

The garages are understood to be council-owned and staff from Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council have been in attendance.

A picture of the destruction was captured by Councillor Chris Watkins.

The incident was flagged-up by Alan Baxter, who said: “Roof has blown off a block of council garages down in The Poplars in Stockingford.

“No injuries. Council in attendance.”

The Met Office warned that Coventry and Warwickshire would not escape the bad weather - although it may not be as severe as in other parts of the country.

Gusts of 60mph were recorded in Church Lawford this afternoon with a spokesman warning that gusts of 70mph are expected in the area.

Meanwhile in Coundon a trampoline was blown on to a bungalow roof.

It happened in Scots Lane.

The bizarre scene was highlighted in the We Love Coundon Facebook group by John McDevitt, who also posted a picture.

In a tongue in cheek comment he said: “Can the owner of this trampoline near to Scots Lane please come and collect it.”

And in Keresley, Bennetts Lane has been blocked by a fallen tree.

It is understood the road is blocked in both directions.

Posting in the Keresley Village Community Facebook group, Ian Bates said: “Tree blocking Bennetts Road by the Hare and Hounds, nothing can get through.”

He also posted a picture from the scene.

In Solihull, close to the Warwickshire border, a section of road was closed after power lines were blown down.

It happened in Pound House Lane, Hockley Heath.

The road is closed in both directions between the Kemps Green turn-off and Spring Lane.

It is affecting traffic between Hockley Heath and Wood End.
