Scouse pupil suspended for 'crisp dealing'

A Scouse pupil has been suspended for "crisp dealing".

The Daily Telegraph reports that Joel Bradley, 12, was caught selling a packet of Discos for 50p at his school in Liverpool.

The school, which has banned fatty drinks and food, decided to suspend him for a day because it was the second time he had been caught.

His father Joe admitted that he too has been caught selling drinks, chocolate bars and crisps from a van outside the school and said that his son was being "victimised".

"I think the school has made a beeline for him because of what I've done," he explained.

Headteacher Dave Forshaw said that there were "six to seven regular sellers" at the school, adding that pupils were caught trading snacks three or four times a week.

"We are a healthy school and proud of it," he said. "If parents are not happy then they are perfectly free to take their children to a school that allows pupils to sell these things and allows a father to sell them outside on the pavement."
