A drug dealer from Rugby has been jailed for three years and two months after admitting four counts of supplying class A drugs.

Callum Davies, 19, was jailed at Warwick Crown Court last Friday (July 2) after he pleaded guilty to four counts of supplying class A drugs.

The court heard that Davies, of Marlborough Road, Rugby, was first arrested on March 23 when officers searched a flat in Deepmore Road in the town.

Officers seized quantities of heroin and crack cocaine, along with weighing scales, cash and a mobile phone.

Davis was interviewed at Leamington Police Station and released pending further enquiries.

He later was spotted acting suspiciously outside a property in Victoria Street, Rugby on March 31.

A short time later he was spotted on an electric scooter and made off when officers attempted to stop him.

They saw him discard of a package which was found to contain three wraps of class A drugs.

Officers returned to the house on Victoria Street later and arrested Davies and a woman who was also at the scene.

Bulk quantities of drugs and a mobile phone were seized when a search of this property was conducted.

Davies' prison sentence also includes an activation of a previous suspended sentence.

Detective Sergeant Alan Gardner said “The conviction and sentence of Davies has resulted from the persistence of Rugby Proactive CID, engagement with local authorities and intelligence from the community.

“Those involved in drugs offences in Rugby will be continually targeted by the police.

“The community can be reassured that information and intelligence is assessed daily to link and target those involved in criminality."
