Mine disappeared out early one morning. I waited and then decided to go to bed, leaving her out all night. She sauntered in when I got up, had a few mouthfuls of food and then settled on the sofa, turning her back to myself and the dog and deliberately ignoring both of us for the rest of the day. She really can be petulant.

Absolutely true Melisandre. I have no idea where she came from. The late Mrs R took her in in the midst of winter, just after we lost our Akita. She took up residence and shows no signs of moving on. She regularly 'complains' to the neighbour that I don't feed her!
