Ke$ha and Pitbull have claimed the first UK number one of 2014 with their single 'Timber'

The country-rap fusion track entered the charts in the top spot, giving both artists their third number one single, after shifting 139,000 copies this week.

Pitbull topped the Official Singles Chart twice in 2011 with Jennifer Lopez's 'On The Floor' and with Nayer, Afrojack and Ne-Yo on 'Give Me Everything'

Meanwhile, Ke$ha - who entered rehab this week to seek treatment for an eating disorder - previously scored UK number ones with Flo Rida's 'Right Round' in 2009 and 2011's 'We R Who We R'.

'Timber' knocked last week's chart topper 'Happy' by Pharrell Williams down to number two, despite the single from the Despicable Me 2 soundtrack shifting another 108,000 sales in the past seven days.

Avicii's 'Hey Brother' and Jason Derulo's 'Trumpets' remain non-movers on this week's countdown at numbers three and four respectively.

The top five is compled by Ellie Goulding's 'How Long Will I Love You', which climbs two places to number five.

New entries this week include Fuse ODG's 'Million Pound Girl (Badder than Bad)', which enters the chart at 14 following the success of his debut track 'Antenna', which peaked at number seven in 2013.

Matrix & Futurebound enter the first countdown of 2014 at number 18 with their highest charting single yet, 'Control' featuring Max Marshall.

Elsewhere, Wilkinson's 'Afterglow' re-enters the Top 40, climbing seven spaces to number 34, while Daft Punk's 'Get Lucky' climbs ten spaces to 39.

Chase & Status's 'Alive' also climbs ten spaces to claim number 35.
