‘Inception’ clears competition at US box office

Inception has debuted at the top of the US box office.

The Christopher Nolan mind-bending thriller, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, claimed $60 million over the weekend.

Falling to second place is the animated feature Despicable Me with $32 million.

Also debuting this week is Nicolas Cage’s action adventure The Sorcerer’s Apprentice at number three with $17 million.

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse lands at number four, followed by Toy Story 3 and Grown Ups.

Finally, The Karate Kid, starring Jaden Smith, drops to number ten with $2 million.
