Spectre tops the US box office

Spectre has taken $73m to shoot to the top of the US box office in its first week.

The James Bond thriller saw off competition from The Peanuts Movie, which is at 2 with $45m.

Meanwhile, The Martian is down to 3 with $9.3m, and Goosebumps is at 4 with $6.9m.

Cold War thriller Bridge of Spies is at 5 with $6m, while Hotel Transylvania 2 is at 6 with $3.5m.

Elsewhere, Bradley Cooper’s chef drama Burnt is at 7 with $3m and The Last Witch Hunter is at 8 with $2.6m.

Finally, The Intern is at 9 with $1.8m and Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension rounds out the top ten with $1.6m.
