The Maze Runner tops US Box Office

The Maze Runner has topped the US Box Office in its opening weekend.

The film, which was directed by Wes Ball and focuses on a boy waking in a labyrinth with no memory of who he is, took $32.5m during the weekend.

Liam Neeson’s A Walk Among the Tombstones is new in at number two, making $13,126,000 in its first weekend.

Tina Fey comedy-drama This Is Where I Leave You is also new at three, taking $11,860,000.

Idris Elba’s No Good Deed is down from number one to number four, while Dolphin Tale 2 is down three to five.

Guardians of the Galaxy is at six with a total gross exceeding $313m over eight weeks.

Comedy Let’s Be Cops is at seven, while Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is at eight.

Tom Hardy’s The Drop is at nine, while If I Stay rounds out the top 10.
