David Fincher has confirmed that his upcoming adaptation of literary classic 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea will be his first movie to be filmed in 3D.

The director of The Social Network also admitted that it was likely that 20,000 Leagues would be his next project after finishing filming on his adaptation of Stieg Larsson’s thriller The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.

“Yes it will be in 3D,” Fincher admitted in an interview with Collider.

While the helmer wouldn’t specify whether the film would definitely be his next project due to the amount of movies that he is currently involved in, he did point it out as being one of his top priorities.

Fincher’s next film, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, is scheduled to be released on December 21, 2011.
