
Fox’s third entry in the Chronicles Of Narnia franchise has topped the US box office in its opening weekend.
Voyage Of The Dawn Treader took a relatively disappointing $24.5 million, as opposed to the $55 million that Prince Caspian opened with in May 2008.
Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp’s latest thriller The Tourist lands in second place taking $17 million, followed by last week’s box-office topper Tangled with $14.5 million.
Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 1 falls to fourth place taking $8.5 million, while Denzel Washington thriller Unstoppable rounds out the top five at $3.7 million.
Aronofsky’s Black Swan has surged into the top ten, taking $3.3 million in the process despite its limited release.
Also notable is Christian Bale’s new film The Fighter, which, according to Collider, took $80,000 from each of its four locations this weekend.
