The comedy hit might not be over after all

Schitt's Creek star Dan Levy has suggested that the breakout comedy might not be over for good after all.

The Canadian comedy ended in April as it released its sixth and final season on Netflix but Levy, who co-created and executive produced the show as well as starring in it as David Rose, has hinted that he'd be open to making a movie.

The show swept the board during the 2020 Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday (September 20), picking up seven of the major gongs, and speaking after the ceremony surrounded by the show's main cast, Levy said that the awards success was the perfect way to end the show's run.

"To be honest this is actually the best way we could have ever ended the show," he said, although he then refused to rule out the possibility of revisiting the characters one day.

"If there is an idea that ever pops into my head, worthy of these wonderful people... it has to be really freaking good at this point because this is a really nice way of saying goodbye," he continued.

"Fingers crossed that we get a really good idea coming into our heads at some point soon. But I would love to work with these beautiful people again. This has been the most incredible experience."

It sounds like some of the show's cast have already been pitching their own ideas, so it seems that there's definitely a possibility we could be watching a Schitt's Creek movie one day...

Schitt's Creek became the first series to win every major comedy series award for the same season, with Levy, his real-life father Eugene Levy, Catherine O'Hara and Annie Murphy all picking up performance awards.

The show won Outstanding Comedy Series, while Dan Levy also won in the writing and directing categories (sharing the directing award with Andrew Cividino).

Levy also revealed that the show's impressive number of award wins "feels like a dream you don't want to wake up from".
