Announced tonight by the network, both “High Maintenance” and “Crashing” have been renewed for third seasons next year. The news also comes while both “Maintenance” and “Crashing” are in the midst of airing their respective second seasons on the network, after making their initial premieres just last month.

Originally a popular web series created by Katja Blichfeld and Ben Sinclair, “High Maintenance” is an anthology-like series that focuses on the various clients and interactions of one busy New York City pot dealer. Since its transition to HBO back in 2016, “Maintenance” has been on the receiving end of some consistent critical acclaim, and has carved out a nice niche audience for itself throughout its first and now into its second season on HBO.

Created by Pete Holmes and based semi-autobiographically on his real-life experiences, “Crashing” follows Holmes as an aspiring stand-up comedian trying to make it in the New York comedy scene following an abrupt and heartbreaking divorce. In addition to Holmes, the series also boasts some notable behind-the-scenes production names, including Judd Apatow as an executive producer.

Throughout their sophomore seasons, both series have been averaging just slightly lower numbers in the adults 18-49 demographic than what their first seasons had scored. Of course, neither series’ ratings are anything to write home about, but the consistency in their respective audiences and HBO’s usual commitment to their creators and shows, make these renewals understandable.

“Crashing” airs every Sunday night on HBO, while “High Maintenance” airs every Friday night.
