“Better Call Saul” reached what looks like a big turning point in its third-season finale on June 19. It would be cruel to fans of the show not to see where things head from here

AMC thinks so too: It has picked up a fourth season of the show. Like the previous three, Season 4 will run for 10 episodes. It’s set to premiere sometime in 2018, with an exact date to be determined.

“Supporting artists we respect and admire; delivering truly outstanding character development and nuanced dramatic twists and turns; continuing a legacy of bold creative choices; loving writing that is the best in the business: Truly, S’all good, man,” AMC president Charlie Collier says in a statement. “Congratulations to [creators] Vince [Gilligan] and Peter [Gould], [star] Bob [Odenkirk] and everyone involved with ‘Better Call Saul.’ Bring on Season 4!”

The just-concluded season of “Better Call Saul” pulled in solid ratings (albeit lower ones than the previous season) for AMC. It averaged a 0.6 rating among adults 18-49 and 1.64 million viewers for the night it aired, down from 0.9 and 2.16 million for Season 2.

The show collected the majority of its audience after the initial airing, improving to a 1.4 (roughly 1.75 million viewers) in adults 18-49 and 3.6 million viewers with three days of DVR and on-demand viewing. It delivered 1.98 million people in AMC’s target audience of adults 25-54.

“Better Call Saul” stars Odenkirk as Jimmy McGill, the man who will eventually become Saul Goodman in “Breaking Bad.” The series also stars Rhea Seehorn, Jonathan Banks, Michael McKean and Patrick Fabian; “Breaking Bad” alum Giancarlo Esposito also made several appearances in Season 3.
