‘Thor: The Dark World’ dominates the US box office

Thor: The Dark World has dominated the US box office this weekend.

The latest Marvel superhero epic took the top spot on the chart with impressive weekend earnings of $86.1m.

Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa held strong in second position over the weekend with $11.3m, while Free Birds and Last Vegas were in third and fourth place respectively.

The Harrison Ford-starring Ender Game’s fell sharply from its victory at the box office last weekend, by dropping to fifth place with $10.3m.

Director Richard Curtis’s romantic comedy About Time entered the top ten with earnings of $5.2m, to finish in ninth place.

Carrie – the latest adaptation of Stephen King’s horror novel – and The Counsellor both dropped out of top ten.
