Martha Stewart is to feature in her own Fox sitcom.



Based on the upcoming book by Jen Lancaster, The Tao of Martha will focus on a party girl who decides to get her life in order when her husband leaves her.

Inspired by the teachings of Martha Stewart, the show's lead begins writing a self-help book as she strives to become a better role model for her daughter, according to Deadline.

Stewart herself is not expected to appear on-screen but will likely make occasional voiceover appearances. The business magnate and TV personality - who recently appeared on CBS sitcom 2 Broke Girls - will also executive produce The Tao of Martha.

Austin Winsberg - best known for creating John Stamos comedy Jake in Progress - will write the pilot script and serve as showrunner.

The Tao of Martha book is currently scheduled to be published in June 2013.
