The network's version of Pulling - which ran between 2006 and 2009 on BBC Three - will be written by Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky (The Office). As in the original sitcom, the principal characters are three dysfunctional women in their thirties.

Three dramas have also been ordered, the network has confirmed, including two from ABC Studios.

Betrayal, from ER's David Zabel, centres on a photographer in an unhappy relationship who starts an affair with a lawyer. Her lover turns out to be defending a murder suspect in a case where her husband is the prosecutor.

The Aaron Zelman-penned supernatural drama The Returned is co-produced by Brad Pitt's Plan B Entertainment, ABC Studios and Brillstein Entertainment Partners, and features people who return from the dead to visit their loved ones.

Finally, McG's Venice - which is co-produced by Warner Bros TV - is inspired by Romeo and Juliet and charts two rival families in Venice, California.
