'Boardwalk Empire', 'Treme' get September premiere dates

HBO has revealed the premiere dates for Boardwalk Empire and Treme.



Boardwalk Empire will kick off its third season on Sunday, September 16 at 9pm ET.

The new season will pick up 15 months after the murder of Jimmy Darmody (Michael Pitt) on season two.

Last month, creator Terence Winter reveal he wants Boardwalk Empire to run for six seasons but will "take it one season at a time".

Meanwhile, Treme will debut its delayed third season the following Sunday on September 23 at 10pm ET.

Treme's David Simon, who also created the The Wire, previously revealed that he and the other producers have pitched an end date to HBO, which means that the series could end after its fourth season.
