'Private Practice', 'Scandal' renewed by ABC

Private Practice and Scandal have been renewed by ABC.



The shows, both created by Shonda Rhimes, will return for a sixth and second season respectively, with Private Practice expected to end after a 13-episode final run, Deadline reports.

Rhimes wrote on Twitter: "Am super proud to say that Scandal has been picked for a 2nd season!!! Am doing a little dance of joy."

She added: "PP is picked up for next season! The dance of joy in our offices is EPIC!"

Body of Proof, which stars Dana Delany as medical examiner Dr Megan Hunt, has been renewed for a third season, while freshman sitcom Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23 will also return.

Grey's Anatomy, Once Upon a Time, Revenge and Castle are among the other current ABC dramas that will return this fall.

On the comedy front, Modern Family, Last Man Standing, Happy Endings, The Middle and Suburgatory have also been renewed.
