Succession’s reign is far from over



HBO has officially renewed the sophomore series for a third season this afternoon, the news of which comes less than two weeks after the critically acclaimed show returned for its second season. The series, which has been a critical darling ever since its premiere last year, just recently received five Emmy nominations for its first season.

Created by Jesse Armstrong, “Succession” follows the dysfunctional family at the head of a massive, global media company. Its ensemble cast includes Brian Cox, Kieran Culkin, Sarah Snook, Jeremy Strong, Nicholas Braun, Hiam Abbass, Peter Friedman, Alan Ruck, Rob Yang, and more.

In the live + same day ratings, “Succession” has been performing on par with its first season up to this point, averaging a 0.2 rating and 608,000 viewers across just two episodes – completely steady with its freshman season’s 0.2 and 603,000 viewer averages.
