Announced this morning, Showtime has officially renewed the Liev Schreiber-led drama for a seventh season, the news of which comes a little over halfway into the show’s current, sixth season. There is currently no word on an episode count for the new season, or when it will premiere, but production is expected to begin sometime next spring.

Created by Ann Biderman, the series follows a a professional fixer for the rich and powerful, with a talent for making their problems disappear, but an inability to deal with his and his family’s. It stars Schreiber, Jon Voight, Eddie Marsan, Dash Mihok, Katherine Moennig, and more.

The show’s sixth season featured not only the addition of Susan Sarandon to its cast, but also a change of location, as Ray transitioned from Los Angeles to New York City. Showtime has confirmed that the seventh season will remain in New York as well.

One of Showtime’s longest-running and most popular series, “Ray Donovan” has been averaging a 0.2 live + same day rating in adults 18-49 so far this season, with 922,000 average viewers. That’s down only slightly from its fifth season’s 0.3 and 1.14 million averages.

New episodes of “Ray Donovan” air every Sunday night on Showtime.
