CBS has renewed 11 shows — seven dramas, two unscripted series and two news programs — for the 2018-19 season

In alphabetical order, the pickups are “48 Hours,” “60 Minutes,” “The Amazing Race,” “Blue Bloods,” “Bull,” “Hawaii Five-0,” “MacGyver,” “Madam Secretary,” “NCIS: Los Angeles,” “NCIS: New Orleans” and “Survivor.”

They join previously renewed shows “The Big Bang Theory,” “Mom,” “NCIS,” “SEAL Team,” “SWAT” and “Young Sheldon” for a total 17 series returning next season.

The pickups include CBS’ entire current Tuesday and Friday lineups; four of five current Thursday shows; and three-fourths of the Sunday slate. Among those still waiting for news about next season are “Criminal Minds,” “Life in Pieces,” first-year drama “Instinct” and the entire Monday-night schedule.

“Criminal Minds” ends its 13th season (and also its lowest-rated to date) Wednesday night. Negotiations to bring the show back have gone down to the wire several times in recent years, and that looks to be the case again this time around.

“Life in Pieces” comes from an outside studio (20th Century Fox TV) and is the lowest-rated of CBS’ Thursday comedies. That said, it performs better than all but one of the network’s Monday sitcoms, and it has a streaming deal with Hulu, so the studio will likely want to keep it going.

“Kevin Can Wait” is CBS’ top-rated Monday show, and it’s co-produced by CBS Television Studios (along with Sony). It seems the most likely to get a green light for next season. The CBS-owned “Man with a Plan” and “Scorpion” also have decent shots at renewal. “Superior Donuts,” “9JKL” and “Living Biblically” are on the bubble.
