Veteran dramas “Elementary” and “Code Black” will open their new seasons as the rest of the network’s primetime shows are starting to wind down their 2017-18 runs. (In fact, they’ll replace two shows that will have already concluded). “Elementary” gets a new home at 10 p.m. ET/PT Mondays starting April 30. “Code Black” debuts May 2 in the 10 p.m. Wednesday spot where it spent its first two seasons.

The shows they’re replacing, “Scorpion” on Monday and “Criminal Minds” on Wednesday, finish their seasons the week of April 23.

Since both shows are starting their seasons so late, they’ll run well into the summer. “Elementary,” which has a 21-episode season, could stretch almost to the start of the 2018-19 season. “Code Black” will likely run into July.

They’ll be part of a summer slate that also includes “Big Brother” and returning summer drama “Salvation.” The second season of “Ransom” is also a possibility for the summer.
