The world of ABC’s TGIT — two-thirds of it, anyway — will come together later this season with a crossover between “Scandal” and “How to Get Away with Murder.”

The stars of each show, “Scandal’s” Kerry Washington and “How to Get Away’s” Viola Davis, teased the crossover Wednesday morning with Instagram posts from the sets of each other’s shows. “Scandal” creator Shonda Rhimes and “HTGAWM” creator Pete Nowalk confirmed it with simultaneous tweets in the afternoon, each showing part of a script page where Olivia Pope and Annalise Keating meet.

There’s no date set for the crossover, but it will likely come sooner than later. In an interview with Deadline, Nowalk says the crossover will cover episodes of both shows, which means it has to happen in the next couple of months.

“How to Get Away with Murder” only does 15-episode seasons, and the show’s return on Jan. 18 will be its ninth episode of 2017-18. Depending on whether ABC rests its TGIT shows for a couple of weeks during the Winter Olympics, “HTGAWM” will end its season no later than mid-March.

So far in its final season, “Scandal” is averaging a 1.2 rating among adults 18-49 for initial airings; the fourth season of “How to Get Away” draws a 0.9. With a week of delayed viewing, they rise to 2.1 and 2.0.

Both shows return from a two-month hiatus on Jan. 18.
